March 20, 2009: And the winner is...
...actually there is no winner at this point in time. We are still debating about two projects that made it to the top of our expectations. We have gone as far as asking our local German architect to price these two projects in minute detail. At this point in time we are still undecided. As we are leaving on holiday today, we have decided to postpone the "winner" decision until May.
Nevertheless, this also means that we have concluded who will not make it to the first and second place.
Here are the results:
# 1: ODOS or CORREIA & RAGAZZI...to be decided in May
# 2: ODOS or CORREIA & RAGAZZI...to be decided in May
# 3: KLEIN & DYTHAM
# 4: PETER HAIMERL
# 5: SATOSHI OKADA
Thank you again for taking this competition seriously. By now you should all have received a written report with our opinions on your proposal. Feel free to ask us any questions if you need more detail.
Announcement of the results.
As we are leaving on holiday on March 20, we have decided to announce the results before leaving. The decision process has been extremely difficult as we have received so many different and great proposals. Thank you for all the time you took to work on your ideas. The most difficult part of the process has been to decide on a ranking. Of course there has been projects that went straight to our heart, others appealed more to our head and wallet. It is always a sad thing to announce the "non-winners" of a competition, but it is a necessary evil.
Everybody who sent in a proposal will receive a report from us stating why we liked/disliked the project. We took time to review each proposal seriously and gave them all our attention. Evenings and days were spent discussing the pros and cons of each concept. At the end we can only afford to build one house, even though so many deserve to see the day.
Here are the submissions!

Not many questions were actually asked; many requests came in asking for more pictures of the building site.
Question: Can we have more pictures of the plot of land?
Answer: Yes, of course. In the DOWNLOADS section we have uploaded a pdf file with more pictures of our land plot. The file is called PICTURES.pdf.
